Thanks Randy - spot on re: many more lines to edit.
Have now reinstalled Easy Weather and just used (with Cumulus shut down) to edit the unit settings - it allowed a minimum data interval of 5 minutes (it had defaulted to 30 mins - I hadn't noticed on set up) which would confirm Steve's suggestion that the unit was just 'missing' some high wind gusts.
Have aligned both the unit and Cumulus to 5 minute intervals, which certanly appears to be giving an improved data granularity - now waiting for the high winds to return!
