Cumulus Support

Has anyone integrated Cumulus 2 into Wordpress or similar blogging system?

My father-in-law uses Cumulus 2 and would like to upload photos and ocassional posts about his Vantage Pro 2 weather station to the site too.

As he is a non-techie, uploading pics and posts falls to me.

It would be much easier if he post pics himself using a web-based CMS like Wordpress that seemlessly integrates with his Cumulus system.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has set something like this up - or indeed who plans to.

I don't really understand what it is you're trying to achieve. Cumulus 2 has no internet capability, so I don't know how you would integrate it into a web site.

Sorry Steve - i posted the topic towards the end of a long day in wrong section of forum and it should be Cumulus, not Cumulus 2.

I think it's unlikely that anyone has done anything to that level. I've seen a couple of sites where Cumulus pages have been used as part of a CMS - one quite recently with Joomla, but I don't think there's any integration to speak of.

I've not spent a lot of time with WordPress but I haves used Drupal, which is the same idea.

In theory it is a simple task as all these CMS systems are base on PHP. Get cumulus to process the phpwebtags file and upload; write a page or two in the CMS with PHP referencing the tags.

I know in drupal you can create custom blocks that are PHP so you don't need to fuss about writing a plugin.

I was wondering the same but for Blogger - anyone any ideas if it's been done, or is possible?

I know this is an old thread, so apologies for jumping on, but I've just got my weather station, found sandaysoft and loving it so far.

I've not yet done any wordpress integration but the simplest option would be to create a php file and process the webtags, then use a plugin like http://www.willmaster.com/software/WPpl ... plugin.php to allow you to simply have an include to your php file. Simple and seemless to the user? I'm certain other plugins must exist for other CMS systems that allow you to insert arbitrary php code.

I have approached the Cumulus/Wordpress question by using the [iframe] tag to display Cumulus style html pages within Wordpress pages. It even works with the real-time gauges.

I am not, by any means an expert at webpage construction but I am happy to describe how I achieved it if it is of any help.

Personally I have a dislike of iframes, but that's just me. It certainly is the easiest way to integrate things, especially when it comes to wordpress though.

HTML5 does introduce some nicer features to iframes, especially seamless and sandbox tages http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_iframe.asp.

I'm setting this up for my family and I'm no expert would you mind sharing how you did this so I'm able to connect it to there blog and davis pro via Cumulus software
