Did the bad data come from the logger? I haven't put checks in for bad solar data from the logger, I'd assumed it would always be OK. But that's probably an invalid assumption.

The memory in your weather station. The part that allows you to stop your PC software (e.g. Cumulus) and then start it up again some time later without having gaps in your data. So basically, I'm asking whether those out-of-range values you've shown appeared when you started up Cumulus after having it stopped for some time, or whether they were OK initially and suddenly went out of range while Cumulus was running.

It would happen while cumulus was running and the UV/Solar sensor lost contact.

Fixed with the new version though!

Does anyone else with this station find the wind recordings and direction very inaccurate? Mine is showing 30km gusts but it is 60km actually. Also wind direction is 180degrees out - luckily for cumulus i can calibrate it to fix this. Fairly disappointed with my new station so far

Don't be too quick to judge. Location and installation of the sensors is very important. Have you leveled out your mast?
Are building or trees blocking or causing the wind to swirl?
How high are the sensors?
Curious, what are you comparing your reading to say they are inaccurate?

Would have thought that rotating the weather vane by 180° would solve this problem? (Just thinking out loud).

Yes, that sounds like an installation error.

Ok yeh i turned it around and it's working a bit better - that is the direction.
Also, the wind vane does 360's (circles) around in only 20km winds. So every few updates it will go S,S,S,NW,S,SE,N,E,S,S,NW and so on.
Oh and its located about 2.5m above ground with nothing within a 10m radius. The house is about 10m away but it should have minimum effect because the station is about the same height as the roof.
I base my findings on the local BoM station 4km where i live.

I'm afraid that won't be high enough to avoid the turbulence from the house roof.

I had mine at about 5m above ground and our bungalow is about 15m away and I had considerable turbulence. I increased the mast height to 6.3m and that made a big difference.

Sorry, no banner - weather station out of action. Hoping to be up and running with a new home-made one soon.

Yes, I did the same as Gina, I'm up about 6.5 to 7 meters and it made a big improvement, apart from that tree to the north west I have that causes some eddies. Oh well, you have to have trees and shade in the garden. :)

There is a factor to apply to wind speed based on pole height in the wiki that I think David put there.

Not sure about the wind gust as I haven't got anything to measure that against, but the direction being 180 out I have had no problem.. Sure you got the wind vane aligned to north correctly?

Yeh it's fixed. I do have another problem in that you know the memory pie graph on the main unit, what happens if it gets full? Cause i thought once i upload the data on cumulus the memory will go back down to 0 percent but its not?
