Re: Corrupt Data
Hi, welcome to the forum
I assume by upgrade you simply installed version 1.9.0 over the top of your current version?
Are you saying you only have a value for todays rain and nothing for yesterday, month, year
Can we see a screen shot?
thanks

Re: Corrupt Data
But you say you copied back the backup data? If you install over the top of your existing installation, there's no copying of data involved. Where did the backup data come from? What exactly does it consist of?antillmob1 wrote:Yes thats right i just loaded the latest version over the old version.

Hi
You know i am confused now, i did however make a backup of the backup files. I didnt transer any files back i just loaded the latest version over the old version of cumulus. I have screen dumps of Cumulus al time records and the totals for nov and they dont match it tells me the record rainfall is in nov but the nov record dont reflect that.

Re: Corrupt Data
There's no reason that I can think of that simply installing a new version over a previous version should cause the rain totals to change, there must be some other reason. Please zip up the diags folder, together with your november log file, and attach it.

Re: Corrupt Data
You have a number of problems:
10/11/2010 16:28:42.473 : Error!!! Failed to write to USB!
This is possibly caused by a loose USB cable; some stations are also known to have poor soldering on the USB sockets, but the problem seems to have gone away now.
Something strange happened between closing Cumulus at about 5pm yesterday:
10/11/2010 16:59:12.776 : Cumulus closing
10/11/2010 16:59:13.606 : Writing todayfile, LastUpdateTime = 10/11/2010 4:50:00 PM raindaystart = 0
and starting it again a couple of minutes later:
10/11/2010 17:01:19.540 : Read today file: Date = 09/11/2010, LastUpdateTime = 09/11/2010 9:30:00 PM
Note that the today.ini file has somehow changed in those couple of minutes where Cumulus wasn't running. This is almost certainly the reason for your rain total problem. I don't know how the file got changed, but I note that you are running Vista but have installed under Program Files, so the files aren't really where Cumulus thinks they are; perhaps this is somehow related.
I can't really explain any of the above, Cumulus can only try to cope with what the files tell it. I think your best bet is to stop Cumulus and edit dayfile.txt; you probably have a large spurious total for yesterday in there, if you correct that, it should sort everything else out.

Re: Corrupt Data
No, dayfile.txt. The format is in the help file and the wiki. You may have trouble finding the file, though; if so, see the FAQ.antillmob1 wrote:thanks for that. i assume by the day log you mean the on titled nov10log. who do i know which is the rainlog figures?
