Fantastic price. BTW, a member of the forum has renamed that retailer 'napkin'. Well his phone spellchecker has anyway!

Re: Maplin have another offer
Hi
Bought One Yesterday to replace my WH1050, had a few years with no problems
This one sold by Maplins is a re-badged (Gadget) WH1080 again
Shame it does not have have a DCF clock and contrast is poor
Apart from that seems to be a good buy for the money
Will need a few days to set it up will let you know how i get on

Some (I'm one) would say you're better off without the DCF facility, it has caused issues for some users and the clock seems to keep pretty good time anyway. One less thing to go wrongOrion wrote:Hi

Re: Maplin have another offer
Thie time is irrelevant anyway if using Cumulus as it uses the PC clock, which is always accurate

Yep, I forgot to mention that as another good reason - thanks Daviddaj wrote:Thie time is irrelevant anyway if using Cumulus as it uses the PC clock, which is always accurate

The N96GY is the one I have, and the contrast on mine is fine (as long as you're looking at it straight on or from slightly above) - you do know it's adjustable?Orion wrote:contrast is poor

I don't think I've looked at my console since I bought it. It just sits on a shelf attached to an old laptop, and I access Cumulus (using W7 Remote Desktop Connection) on my main desktop and daughter'slaptop.

Re: Maplin have another offer
That's what I have too - N96GY from Maplin. In fact I have two - took advantage of their previous offer to get a backup / 2nd console for testing.

Re: Maplin have another offer
Thanks for feedback
Found the contrast adjustment (its with the time adjustment panel ) anyway a little better than it was not as clear as my WH1050 but that's probably because it has the touch screen in front of it
As you say Cumulus will keep the time from the PC
just need a 1 or 2 days of fine weather so i can get outside and get it set up
my WH1050 was bolted to the shed, but too close to the house so am going to concrete in a pole at the end of the garden and fix the wind speed and direction sensors to that
Found this site for some info on locating sensors

Re: Maplin have another offer
Dont forget to use Quidco and get 8% cashback on Maplins If your going to buy one.
Or £5 off and 2.5% cashback would need to buy something else to take it over the £65
