There are now 2 versions of this widget:
- CumulusM: a version that reads realtime.txt data.
- CumulusW: a version that reads Weather Underground data.

Please note: The rules for use of Weather Underground data state clearly that it is not allowed to use their data in a mobile application for general distribution. So please do not re-distribute! I do not consider this forum 'general distribution'.

CumulusM version 0.3 below. Note: File is named: CumulusM.zip (had to rename it: the extension wgz is not allowed)

To install:
- rename the file to: CumulusM.wgz (making sure you get rid of its original .zip filetype)
- download and install to your Nokia phone using your preferred method: Ovi Suite, mass memory transfer, Bluetooth or whatever.

For info: a .wgz file is actually just a .zip archive, so if you are curious and want to look at the source code: simply rename to CumulusM.zip and unzip the file contents.

The widget requires a Nokia S60 5th edition or later (e.g. Symbian^3), and includes homescreen widget support.
My test device is a Nokia 5800 with (unofficial) C6-00 firmware which supports homescreen widgets.

I have uploaded my version 0.3 to the first post of this thread. You may download, rename & install from there.

Note: the input file for the widget is a Cumulus realtime.txt file located at some website (default is my realtime.txt...)

The version uploaded has NO facilities for reading Wunderground data.

But I have a test version of this widget that displays realtime.txt data as well as data from Wunderground (from a nearby PWS).
It reads and processes Wunderground data, based on station ID, and Wunderground forecasts, based on latitude/longitude.
(It also does Sager forecasts, but that's a different story...)

So maybe I can put together a Wunderground-only version over the next couple of days (don't hold your breath).

Pleased to hear it works on your X6. You can put the widget on the main screen as a 'shortcut', but the X6 does not suport homescreen widgets, so you will not see updated data.
(My 5800 does not suport homescreen widgets - unless I install non-standard firmware: PNHT's C6-firmware)

To translate you will have to modify the cumulus.js file.
But it is not set up for easy language translation - sorry!

CumulusW: a widget that reads Weather Underground data is now available from 1st post of this thread.
Please note that you should not re-distribute (Weather Underground rules).

Thanks for the Wunderground Version of your Nokia widget
The Nokia 5530 does not have GPS but does have WIFI
I uninstalled the CumulusM version and then installed the CumulusW version

The screen is not refreshing by itself every 60 secs unless you goto options and refresh
do not understand the rain readings I am getting the wunderground widget says Rain today 0.02in (0.1mm)
Cumulus is showing 0.6mm
and the wunderground website is showing 0.51mm
PS. This is just the snow in the rain gauge melting not real rain

I cannot explain the rainfall figures.
Had a look at your WU-site, and it says: 0.5 mm rain today.
But the data I receive says 0.02 inches/0.1 mm - see attached file showing the data received.

I'll look at the way I do the automatic update.
The idea was to update the data on the screen if, and only if, it was displaying the summary info.

looks like they are sending 0.1cm not 0.1mm

CumulusW version 0.2 uploaded to 1st post of this thread. Bug fixes only.

Weather Underground is clearly inconsistent in its rain info: the website says one thing, their XML-data via their API says something else.

and its now raining will see how it goes given some real rain
UPDATE 23:00
Wunderground website is now reporting 0.24 in = 6.09600 millimetres
and the widget is showing 0.24in but 0.6mm not 6.0mm just looks like you need to change mm to cm then it would be correct

So what do I have to edit so I can point it to my uploaded realtime.txt file?

I assume this will work on a normal PC as well as a late model Nokia that has the wgz file type associations?
