Hi all,
I have succumbed to the temptation Steve placed in front of me and purchased a Solar radiation sensor, and being fairly novice at website building, thought I would ask some questions.
I noticed some new webtags:
<#CurrentSolarMax> Current theoretical maximum solar radiation
<#IsSunny> Returns 1 if the sun is shining, otherwise 0
Can anyone point me to any examples of the above webtags in use on a website? I gather I have to alter my Cumulus web folder and indexT file to add them, but am unsure of the best way of displaying the result of the "is Sunny" webtag, and would like to see what or how others have used this data. A simple 1 or 0 seems a bit basic.
And there are some new realtime.txt options.
56 Sunshine hours so far today
57 Current theoretical max solar radiation
58 Is it sunny? 1 if the sun is shining, otherwise 0
My second question is what does the realtime.txt do? I see the sunshine hours displayed on the "today" and "yesterday" pages on the standard template, but I haven't figured out how or where I would add the new ones, or where the results are displayed.
thanks for your patience.
Peter

Re: Solar webtags
I can't give you any examples myself, because I'm not actually using those tags yet. But basically the <#IsSunny> tag is intended for use with some kind of scripting, e.g. PHP (server side) or javascript (client side) so you can check the value and display an appropriate message or image.
The realtime.txt file is just a string of data items that can be used by something like the Flash gauges on the gauges.htm page, or the separate Silverlight Cumulus Realtime application.
