Watson W-8681 Wind Direction

Post by callum91 »

Hello

My data display unit has stopped recieving wind direction data. All other data is getting through except for the Wind direction, I'm not sure why though.
I have tried taking the batteries out of the display unit and putting them back in and all that has done is make the pressure now completely wrong and still no wind direction showing.

Regards

Callum

I assume you have checked the cables are ok at either end (the wind direction sensor and and its connection to the transmitter)?

I have lost a sensor in the past and i simply unplugged the cable, gave the connector a quick clean and plugged it back in

No not yet because it's so much hassle getting to them. I guess we'll have to try that then.

Thanks

It turns out that the vane is seized up so I might have to poke it with a stick or wait until it gets windy again which probably won't be long!

Thanks

No grease in the bearing is the normal cause.
