Cumulus crashing again when opening - latest beta build

Yes, you did warn there might be problems with this one - and this morning Cumulus crashed again when starting it, after I installed the latest beta yesterday. File attached for your information.

Edit: As last time when it crashed in an earlier beta, I just edited the time stamp to now in today.ini and Cumulus opens OK, so it seems to be a similar problem. I believe it was to do with the USB component?

Possibly USB. I changed the USB initialisation to try to work around some sort of clash with another piece of software. I'll have to put it back again. Out of interest, what other USB devices do you have (I can't remember if I asked you this before, sorry).

But the today.ini hack was simply making it stop downloading logger data, before I had got the WS2300 logger code correct in the new version. Are you saying that hack makes this particular problem disappear?

Hi Steve, yes, tricking it not to download data from the logger allowed it to open fine, as before.

I do have quite a few USB components on my PC - mobile phone connection, graphics tablet, printer, scanner, wireless keyboard and mouse, room lighting monitor for display correction.

The weather station is a serial connection, although I did originally have it connected via a serial-USB interface and thus via USB a long time ago, if you remember, but we thought that might have been the cause of the spurious data being recorded and thus I got a serial interface for the PC and connected it directly.

On the contrary, it's very good of you to patiently put up with these (apparently) USB related problems when you don't even have a USB station!
