Came down this morning to find the tendency section on my Maplin controller (Fine Offset type) flashing with rain indicated (and no it's not in program mode as no +/- buttons are displayed). I'm sure I've never noticed this happen before the display is normally static - can someone advise what this means and if i need to do anything to "reset" it. Info was downloaded to Cumulus OK

I've noticed mine flashing from time to time; I'd assumed it flashed for a while after it changes.

I must admit I'm questioning myself - it may well of done this before, but I can't recall seeing it happening

I have seen it doing that on mine and I think it means a Storm warning it is when the hpa drops very quickly in a hour or so.
I hope this Helps to explain things.

Wow -
Looking at the outside pressure graph it has dropped from over 1006 to 997 in the past 24hrs, and now has slightly risen to 988 - that would explain it then - Thanks

That's talking about the
+/- buttons flashing when you're configuring the forecast.

I think you'll find it isn't.

As Steve said, that's for the config settings - this was just flashing the two clouds and the large down arrow. The + and - buttons were not displayed...
It must of been that fast drop in pressure that caused it as the moment the pressure started to rise the flashing stopped.

I think you'll find, if you read it, that it
is:
"Touch weather forecast section
and + and - button will flash" - etc.
Having tried it, I see that the forecast section does also flash, but that's not what the instructions say

Once the thresholds have been set the display flashes when the values have been exceeded. I accept the manual isn't very clear but you do have to ask yourself the purpose of amending the thresholds

It's been mentioned before but no-one seemed to know what the purpose was of that setting. Are those figures per hour, because that's not clear either?

That is a good question which I've asked myself, one would think it is 3 hr average but I'm afraid your guess is as good as mine. I haven't checked it myself, however, malc-c may be able to see from his Cumulus results if he knows the time it started flashing.
