Compass Color

Post by wd40 »

Changing compass color is really interesting. I like the huge amount of flexibility over something like themes or no color change at all.

The new wind gauge has selectable themes, and I was going to add them to this build. But in my opinion, all but a couple of them look really bad, so I didn't bother. I'll do the same for the wind gauge as I've done for the compass, and let you select all the colours individually.

Nice but you'll have to increase the display setting screen ;)
Btw i've noticed that the cancel button don't cancel the colour modification :o

That's right, all of the colour changes are instant. I'll probably put them on a separate screen without a cancel button ;)

Glad you choose the direction you did Steve. Looking forward to the future changes.

This is my personal favorite so far.

Yes; I don't like it anyway. I'm thinking of replacing it with a wind rose of this type:

There was a legend with it, but I cut it off so as just to show the bit which Cumulus would display :)

The wind graph is a tough one. Wind direction is so dynamic I wonder how much useful information can be gleamed from a graph that shows more detail than a soft average or tendency type of display.

This may not help at all but I think it is interesting that when I look at the wind direction graph, the data points are all over the place but if I select the 3-D, the information to the eye is more useful. Seems to make grouping more distinguishable. If it works for everyone that way maybe that might be guidance for a new type of wind direction gauge.
