Just confirming that Lacrosse models (I have a ws2355) send a single wind speed number in their logs?
- If I choose the "Use 10 min average wind speed" in the station settings, will that be the average out all individual readings over the past 10 minutes?
- Also does Cumulus average on all values including 0.0 or does it discount these (ie the 10 min average is the average speed of values above 0.0)?
Wind Gust value
- is this the highest individual wind speed sent to Cumulus during the 10 minute period.
Thanks
Scott

Re: Lacrosse wind speed options
Yes, that's right.sunray24 wrote:Just confirming that Lacrosse models (I have a ws2355) send a single wind speed number in their logs?
Yes. There's also a cumulus.ini file option (which should be documented in the wiki) to change the 10 minutes to some other period of time.- If I choose the "Use 10 min average wind speed" in the station settings, will that be the average out all individual readings over the past 10 minutes?
It includes all the values, including zero.- Also does Cumulus average on all values including 0.0 or does it discount these (ie the 10 min average is the average speed of values above 0.0)?
Yes - and again there is an ini-file option to change the 10 to something else.Wind Gust value
- is this the highest individual wind speed sent to Cumulus during the 10 minute period.
