What do you mean? Is there anything I can do to prevent this on my end?

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
Actually I got it working! There was an option within WSDL to share USB data, I enabled it.
I'm hoping that this doesn't cause data spikes again - I'll see what happens.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
Oppps spoke to soon! Both applications crashed. There is some type of clash with the USB.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
Just that it's not a case of the two programs clashing, they also have to be using USB. So I can't try it myself, for example.glen.day wrote:What do you mean?

Does WSDL also work with Fine Offset stations? is it possible that it's 'grabbing' the Fine Offset station too? Actually, that can't be it - or you would have hit the problem with your WMR200 unplugged. Both applications crashed. There is some type of clash with the USB.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
WSDL only supports the following weather stations WMR100, WMR200, and RMS300.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
Steve do you think it would be worth it if I uninstalled the latest beta from my machine and reverted to an older beta version to see when this started.
I'm just worried about loosing my data.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
It would be useful information. My guess would be either build 950 (the first build with the new compiler and components) or build 954, when I changed the place in the start up where I initialise the USB.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
Ok I'm going to do a test...
I have another computer, I will install both applications on this computer and connect both weather stations and see what happens from there I'll step down in Cumulus beta versions and let you know of my results.
I'll keep you updated.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
Ok, first of all I was able to replicate on my test computer the error which I am receiving on my main weather computer "Invalid pointer operation." when opening both applications.
I just realised that I can only download the latest beta version - would you have somewhere I can download past 1.9.1 beta versions?

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
I have just tested v1.9.0 (stable) and was able to have both applications opened at the same time without any issues.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
Ok no worries about the beta versions I hope this test helped you. Somewhere between version 1.9.0 and the current beta something has changed which causes my error.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
I've changed the way I initialise the USB for the next build, and also removed the superfluous event handlers. But I can't guarantee that this will have any effect on your problem, and if it seems to be causing other problems, I'll have to put it back as it was.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
I tested the latest changes you made in beta 957 and I still get the invalid pointer error - I give up, I guess I will just have to not open WSDL anymore.

Re: Serious Spike Of Rain
I just noticed that suddenly the rainfall for month and period has shot up to an incredibly high number.
I looked at the Jun14log.txt file and find that there are 214 entries with the same timestamp (07:57 on the 8th June) and (at the least) invalid rainfall in each of them.
Here are first and last few...
