How to reset data in Windows 7 using Cumulus 1.9.0

Post by denodan »

I am using Cumulus 1.9.0 and found to reset all data with xp is easy, go to the backup and data folders and deleting everything in their clears the data completely. I have done this often doing work on my weather station as it mucks up my rain data when I do, so need to reset my data when doing this.

Now I got a netbook with windows 7 starter, Cumulus 1.9.0 works well, but the above solution fails to work. There must still be data in there, as deleting data in backup and data files does not do the trick. Does windows 7 store the data in another location? I cannot find it, so cannot reset the data to zero rainfall etc.

It is in C:\programs files\cumulus, so is basically in the same place as the folder in my laptop running XP

You've been able to find your data, then? You might want to consider moving Cumulus, unless you're happy with the way you've got things.

No cannot find the data? With XP it's in the backup and data folder, but with windows 7, it does not appear to be their, so cannot delete the data, so cannot find it, and uninstalling Cumulus does not solve the problem.

Did you read the FAQ entry I linked to? Windows is hiding the data because Cumulus is naughty. The readme that appears when you install advises you not to install in the default location on Vista and Windows 7.
