Actually Mark, the font in FF doesn't look too bad (just a tad larger). I mostly use FF and prefer what I see on your page in FF (as opposed to IE). I guess it comes down to what you are used to seeing in a particular browser. It certainly doesnt take anything away from your great work.

Steve, I have changed the code to not define a font, and IE/FF/Chrome are now fairly consistent.
Note that IE8 (and below) does not support HTML5 and Canvas, so an 'emulation' script is converting the HTML5 Canvas commands into VML for these browsers - yuk

Agreed, those gauges are great! And yes, the wind direction gauge is "something else" - marvellous

Thanks for the comments. It's been a bit stressful at work for the last couple of weeks, hopefully I can look at this again soon.

Hey Mark,
How is the wind direction plot from the enhancements request coming along? It looked good but I notice its not working now. Were you able to progress it along at all?
Cheers

do you mean
this one? If so that is just an experimental play around, providing the wind direction data in realtime(ish) consumes a lot more bandwidth - I have reverted my data transfers to exclude this data again, hence that page no longer plots the direction. I have added a second plot that builds up a plot of the average direction (1 minute per pixel radius), but as Cumulus doesn't provide historic average direction data (yet

) it can't be plotted on the page first opening. I was thinking that a similar 'snail trail' could be added to the compass plot on my main page.
I'm slowly progressing on making the gauges fit for release - they now support multiple units (mm/in, mph/ms/knots, C/F) just the cloud base one to check out now.

Yep...that was the one. Explains why its disappeared.
Don't reply to this post, you don't have time. Get on with the cloudbase. The whole forum is eagerly awaiting the release of the 'McGauges'.

I'm just changing the code so it will work with a standard realtime.txt file rather than my custom file. I also need to create a metre version of the cloud base background image.

Here is my first stab at making the gauges work with the standard (1.9.1) realtime.txt file
edit: moved the work on realtime.txt based gauges to it's own folder

Some of the readings have gone (time it last rained, todays max rain rate are the most notable), but the good news is most of the data is available.
