I have a wind problem....

Post by captzero »

No, not that sort of problem....not at the moment anyway.... more to do with current wind speed and daily maximum wind speed.

I am using "<#wlatest>" webtag to display the latest wind speed reading from console and "<#windTM>" to display todays maximum speed. I will get often have a current wind speed that is higher that today's maximum speed (see pic) but today's max speed does not reflect the higher speed. I do not have Cumulus calculate a 10 min average. Have I got my webtags wrong?

Thanks

You're not comparing similar data. See this FAQ entry for a description of how the Fine Offset wind speeds map onto Cumulus names: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#What_d ... tations.3F

This page in the wiki describes the web tags: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Webtags

Admittedly, the description of <#windTM> doesn't explicitly say it gives the maximum average speed, but I guess this is because I always consider wind speeds (rather than gusts) to be averages. I'll update the wiki to make this explicit.
