Transmitter unit change affects wind direction

Post by Gina »

I'm now using the new transmitter unit with the old wind sensors. Before I got my 2nd station I was getting more wind directions readings of WSW and ENE than the adjacent primary points (SW and NE). This was shown in the wind roses. However, since changing the tx unit (but not the wind vane unit) the wind direction is showing heavy preference for the 8 primary points. I posted the wind rose before showing the old preferences but I can't find that thread now.

Here is the new wind rose plot - I'll see if I can find a copy of the old one.

That's odd, isn't it? You wouldn't expect changing the transmitter to have that effect. But at least yours is now like most others!

Yes indeed :) I was going to check out the new wind vane but now I don't need to bother

I'm thinking about the possibility that there are faults in the first tx unit.

Funny you should bring this up, since I changed my transmitter I'm getting many more the intermediate points than I was before!
