Cumulus Support

I know this is rather beyond the intent of Cumulus, but I was wondering
Cumulus has a great almanac table, and I wanted to show the almanac info (sunrise, set times, etc) for two locations on the one web page,
I assume the Cumulus program cannot access two different sets of lat and long data, since only one is entered in the set up,
so I installed a second Cumulus in a different directory than the first and entered the second lat and long info.

Now, I am curious as to how to edit the IndexT.htm page to allow it to display both sets of almanac info correctly. I got it to display the same info twice, but not quite what I had in mind.

I guess I need to know how to "call" info into a web page from the other Cumulus index.htm.

Anyone tried it?

Do you have any knowledge of PHP?

Or Javascript (for a client side solution)?

Well, I guess, after reading pages on PHP and Javascript via Google, I'll have to say I don't know anything about either. But having learned HTML from a book, can PHP or Javascript be harder?

I guess the question is do you have sufficient control of your web server to setup and run PHP? If so then that will be your best solution, if not then I think you will have to use a client side Javascript solution.

Thanks for the insights. From previous discussions with my server, I believe they do not allow PHP.
So I guess I'll learn how to make javascript work. Then I'll need to know what to do with it.

Fred, I seem to remember from previous discussions, unless I am mistaking you with someone else, that you live (or used to live) in Calgary (Alberta, Canada) and that you (and 'spousal unit' Wendy) have an incredibly beautiful Bed & Breakfast house (Casa Sueños) in San Ramón, Costa Rica...

So, where is your server (host) located? I know that your site(s) used to be hosted by Chinook Webs (Calgary, Alberta Canada) - have you moved, yet, your site to a host in Costa Rica?

If you are still with Chinook Webs, I would think that PHP should be readily available to you - the Chinook Webs plans are basically aimed at small businesses.

One way to check the availability of PHP on one's server is to upload a small file with a single line of code: The file must be saved with the extension PHP, such as 'php_test.php'. Then from one's browser, one would load the file with a URL such as: If PHP is available, then one would rapidly find out by the amount of information that would be displayed on one's screen. If PHP is not available, then, nothing should be displayed (except maybe for an error message).

PHP is not that hard to learn and quite easy to put into practice, one just need a bit of patience and do a lot of reading (I find that books are preferable to online documents). As for JavaScript, that is a whole different thing, a very 'dry' and very unfriendly programming language.

Yes gemini, you have the right guy. My server is still in Canada, but we connect somehow through a wireless system to a Costa Rican company, then to Canada. I'll try the PHP trick. Something to learn on the long rainy evenings here.

Have you moved permanently to San Ramón, Costa Rica or have you just gone there for the winter ... you know, winters in Calgary can be so ... so ... cold...
