Upgrade to v.1.9.0 - successful

Post by PaulMy »

After about 45 days of non-stop operation I had both Cumulus and WL stop on me yesterday. A couple of reboots, after Windows and other updates, and everything seemed fine. But again today I found Cumulus stopped and decided it was time to upgrade to v.1.9.0. I had been avoiding this because I was afraid of the unknown. After quite a bit of reading the Cumulus help, FAQ and Wiki I got the nerve to do it. And was I pleasantly pleased of how easy it was, and all my former settings and data seems identical to before the update. Website, WU, PWS all back updating. Well done Steve    .

There is one issue I still have. In the past whenever Cumulus was shut off by me (either because of lock up or doing a computer reboot) and then after restart there was no data shown in the Console's Recent Extremes section for Yesterday (data for Today is shown correctly). And it is the same in the Yesterday tab on my website where now everything is 0 except Rainfall Yesterday, which shows correct at 14.4. As in the past, this will then become corrected after the midnight day change. I have checked the "today" and "yesterday" files and they both show all the data correctly. The monthly log files also show correct data when this occured in the past. So not a big issue as there is no lasting data error, just temporary missing data.

If you have 'yesterday' data showing just before but not after a quick restart of Cumulus, then it must think there's a problem with the yesterday.ini file. When it happens again, zip up the diags folder together with your today.ini and yesterday.ini files, and I'll have a look.
