One point, looking at that photo - when the rain comes from the direction of that shed I don't think you'll get much in the rain gauge. The rain gauge needs to be well out in the clear, away from buildings.

Sorry, no banner - weather station out of action. Hoping to be up and running with a new home-made one soon.

This is my best experience with modification to the WH 1080 Raingauge. Now I have not differences of rain. It is made with a flexible plastic material measures 5 cm x 11 cm = 55 cm2.

Mauricio

Thank you Gina :) I am looking forward to seeing photos of your latest modification I heard mentioned in another thread :)
The Whole Station is going to be relocated / replaced soon so it will suffice for now but I am happy to report that it was a huge success the modification recording 7.1mm of rain this afternoon so far :D

I don't want you to be jealous but we had 37mm of rain in the early hours this morning!! Glad your mod works well :)

I'll be posting pics soon - just a matter of cropping and resizing them before uploading.

I had worried about the accuracy of the rain gauge in the past, but, rather than modifying it I have bought a cheap manual collector and compared the two. Over August and September there has been little difference.
