Working with Data files

Post by wd40 »

The other day I was wanting to check the monthly data file for a rain that was caused when I moved the gauge. I have not tried the Tool Box and I was in a hurry.

What I did was copy the file and pasted it in Word, then had Word put the information into a table automatically.

The table made the mistake easy to find and correct. Then I selected the whole table and had word convert the revised table to text for pasting back to the data file.

Worked for me. I don't know if the Tool Box is as easy as this method.

There would certainly be fewer clicks, and less chance of making an mistake in the data. I am sure there are many methods. Excel would be easier than Word (in my opinion)

However, I am not being objective as I wrote 'Toolbox.

I owe your Tool Box a try. Next time, that is what I will use.
