Bug in version 1.8.9
Hi Steve,
I found a bug in 1.8.9. I have upgraded to 1.9.0 to see if it's fixed.
The bug is the daily rainfall for the day. It sticks and requires the program to be closed and opened.
I had 18mm of rain two days ago and it still displays on cumulus and the web pages.
Everything else 'resets' every 24h and other things change constantly.
Thanks!

Thanks!

Re: Bug in version 1.8.9
Cumulus had stopped doing the daily rollovers after 29th August. In fact, it looks like it stopped doing pretty much anything useful after that. I'm not sure what caused that, but you are getting vast numbers of errors with your wind data (this ties in with what you were saying earlier about your spikes and the 'OFL' display):
29/08/2010 21:01:21.270 : Wind > 49.9 m/s, probably sensor contact lost, using zero
29/08/2010 22:23:45.089 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
29/08/2010 22:24:01.883 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
29/08/2010 22:24:56.401 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
29/08/2010 22:25:28.838 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
29/08/2010 22:25:52.462 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
29/08/2010 22:26:41.843 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
29/08/2010 22:26:49.925 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
29/08/2010 22:27:40.467 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
29/08/2010 22:28:13.084 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
This should really have only stopped the wind speed updating, rather than everything. You need to investigate the problem with your anemometer.
When you restarted it this morning, it caught up again using the data from the logger, but you're still getting wind errors:
7/09/2010 18:53:02.153 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
7/09/2010 18:53:26.438 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
7/09/2010 18:53:33.728 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
7/09/2010 18:53:41.600 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
7/09/2010 18:53:57.062 : Ignoring wind speed: -1000
It does however seem to be updating OK for the time being:
7/09/2010 18:54:00.507 : Writing todayfile, LastUpdateTime = 7/09/2010 6:54:00 PM raindaystart = 22.2700004577637
At the point where it stopped updating, you started getting these errors:
29/08/2010 21:12:05.446 : 9:12:05 PM FTP Error: FTP component not connected
29/08/2010 21:12:05.446 : 9:12:05 PM FTP Error: FTP component not connected

29/08/2010 21:12:05.456 : 9:12:05 PM FTP Error: FTP component not connected
29/08/2010 21:12:05.456 : 9:12:05 PM FTP Error: FTP component not connected
You're also getting a number of 'file sharing violations', e.g:
4/09/2010 11:38:41.108 : Error saving windgauge.png: Cannot create file "C:\Program Files\Cumulus\web\images\windgauge.png". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process
4/09/2010 13:59:14.815 : Error processing web\trendsT.htm Error: I/O error 32
It's possible that something like this (the file access problem) is what caused Cumulus to stop updating. I suspect anti-virus or something else running on your system is causing the problem. Sorry I can't be more help.

Re: Bug in version 1.8.9
I've just noticed another problem:
7/09/2010 08:32:09.286 : WS2300: Processing history data for = 8/09/2010 1:43:00 AM addr = 0E91
It looks like the date on your weather station is set a day ahead of actual time - that 'history data' timestamp is read from the station. This is going to cause all kind of problems with your data logs. If you look at your logs you will almost certainly find lots of apparently out of of sequence data, duplicate entries etc.

Re: Bug in version 1.8.9
Hi Steve,
Thanks I reset the weather station date! I will rerun the wind meter cable there is info on using cat cable rather than phone cord.
I will keep a watch on the virus software.
Thanks again!

Re: Bug in version 1.8.9
I've just noticed you have Fedora as your OS - are you running Cumulus under emulation?

Re: Bug in version 1.8.9
It's actually running on a old XP notebook that has got a serial port. It's sent to my webserver that's Fedora. It probably would work under wine. I just have the notebook as it's my only Windows machine.

Steve,
Just letting you know I reran my wind meter and my rainfall in cat5a. I paired them so I had twisted pair shielding.
Its fixed no issues at all now.
