negative rainfall rate

Post by adrian5750 »

Hi folks

Here's an interesting one (maybe)

Watson weather station, Cumulus - http://www.ambquality.co.uk/weather/trends.htm -
records a period of negative rainfall (huh ??) this afternoon at about 5pm.

Looking out of the window, it's definitely 'positive' rainfall - where would I go about 'knobbling' this strange data ? (It seemed to coincide with a period when the 'trands' page was unavailable - I restarted Cumulus and the page reappeared, but with this strange data

Thanks
Adrian

Looks like the rain counter went down instead of up at about 1630, which appears to coincide with a restart of Cumulus, so possibly bad data in the logger. You could try restarting from the backup made at that restart (copy the files into the data folder with Cumulus stopped), but if that doesn't fix it then you'll need to edit the 'rain today so far' and rain rate figures in sep10log.txt.

Depending on what happened to the rain counter, you may also need to carry out the usual procedure to get today's total correct: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#My_sta ... it_to_zero
