Ambient Weather's Solar Shield

When you buy a Fine Offset from Ambient Weather here in the USA, they offer an optional solar shield. Here is a picture of the original sitting on top of the bracket of the larger, optional solar shield.

Dan, when I bought it with the WS-2080 it was $29. I think it is $39 by itself.

Would a bunch of pie plates stacked up with spacers between be as effective? 8-) Cut the centres out of the bottom 8 or so plates and fasten with long stainless steel bolts? I suppose one would have to take into account the thermal conductivity of the the pie plates though :roll: Maybe aluminum wouldn't be the best.

looks a bit like my BBQ setting shield. I ran out pf plates though and had to resort to bowls. :D

Well, it has been done with what appears to be plastic picnic bowls... Too bad it had to be painted white... :mrgreen:

Yep! Plastic picnic bowls was what I used :)
