Dayfile - windgust and bearing

Post by serowe »

Steve - for data in the Dayfile.txt file, at what point do you record the days highest wind gust? For example, I have a max wind gust yesterday of 25.6 km/h over a period of 8 minutes with a bearing that spreads over 10 degres and then the same speed again an hour latewr for a period of 5 minutes over a 15 degree bearing (the wind was in the process of changing from a WSW to a more S'ly at the time.

So do you take the first occurrence, an average or the latest?

The first occurrence. The code simply checks for new data being greater than the existing high.
