WRT the dayfile.txt log file - does this file get 'rolled over' or do you keep adding to it forever? I know the <mon><year>log.txt files are a monthly detailed log, but I am presuming, as there is no mention of it anywhere else, that dayfile.txt is a continuous records of daily extremes/averages without regard to the month or year.
If this is the case - does Cumulus make use of this file in any other way that writing it? ie is it read at any time for resetting/adjustment of extremes/records? So, if I have historical daily data, is it of any benefit adding it into the dayfile.txt log other than for just localising a text version of the stations history?
You mention, elsewhere, about V2 using a database for storage of data - do you have any further information available on that as yet? (knowing that V2 is still under development and the concrete hasn't set yet
