I'm using the Toolbox to do a daily upload of my dayfile.txt file

I keep getting an error msg "upload failed -The requested FTP command is not supported when using HTTP proxy"

The settings I am using are
Local Fileneme C:\Program Files\Cumulus\Data\dayfile.txt

Remote Filename /var/www/html/dayfile.txt

Can somebody please explain what this error means and how I can overcome it

Your internet access is presumably via a proxy. The only ftp commands supported via a proxy are RETR, LIST and NLST. I think that either you will need to turn off your proxy, or David will need to change the toolbox upload so it doesn't attempt to use the proxy. David will be back fairly soon, so he should be able to offer more help with this.

Thanks Steve, but I think I will await David's return :|

Hi David

Welcome back, hope you've had a well deserved break

Yes I am still getting the error as the original post

I have used Kevin's (TNT) dayfile.php script and I need to upload the dayfile.txt file every day.
At present I am using "Auto FTP Manager" to automatically upload the file but I would prefer to use the Toolbox

Any ideas please??

David

Just googled proxy & Firefox

Gone into Tools, Advanced, Network, Settings
Result is "No Proxy" is ticked
So I believe the answer to your question is No I am not using a proxy

How is your PC connected to the internet?

Wireless?
Network cable to a broadband box?

David

PC (running Cumulus & Toolbox) connected by Cat5 cable to D-Link 524 Router
The router is connected by Cat5 to Cable modem
The router also connects to another PC, Ive checked that this PC has the "No proxy" box ticked
Hope this helps

Brian

I have been trying to replicate the problem without much success over the last few days. (I should have mentioned that a few days ago, sorry)

I am familiar with your web server setup (as I do your hosting ;) ) and there is no issue with the setup there.

Are you using any kind of Internet protection software on your PC? Norton or the like? Something that may be intercepting your web activity to ensure you are not visiting 'questionable' sites?

The free version or the Complete ?

Could you close it down for a few minutes and test Toolbox?
