I only have one general 'weather' book, but I would dearly love to be able to look at clouds and identify them (I know what Cumulus look like ). They both get pretty good reviews on Amazon, but the first one looks to be better?

We covered weather in our lessons at school (in physics I guess) and I still remember some of it. Also, I've had a general interest in weather throughout my life. I haven't got a book on it though. TV programmes about the weather have also kept me informed.

I haven't registered but I did watch Gavin Pretor-Pinney on BBC a few weeks back. He showed how to make a cloud using a 2 litre plastic bottle - a nice trick to show the grand children.

I read the review on Amazon for the 'Cloud Collectors Handbook' and was hoping for some tips on how to store my clouds once I had collected them as mine keep evaporating after I put them in the ziplock bags I have been using. Although they were kept in a cool, dry place, out of direct sunlight.... I lost the lot. Will keeping them in the fridge help? I especially like 'it also caters for the competitive cloudspotter'.... I have about 1600 points now (or did have).

I have been a member of the Cloud Appreciation Society for a few months now (member 21235). I've found Gavin's books very informative and an amusing read, and I now understand how cloud sequences can be used to forecast rain fairly accurately locally.
