Rosenborg weather station

Post by dane »

My (2 year old) Watson W-8681 started developing strange diseases: beeping for unknown reasons, day and/or night, humidity going up to 100%, and finally: not updating the information on the display.
I opened the unit and removed the beeper, but apart from that there was nothing I could do to get rid of the problems.

So I started looking for a replacement and came across a Rosenborg 68700 which is basically a WH-1080/W-8681 MkII:
- supplied sensor cables about 10 metres long
- adjustable contrast on the console
- much improved Danish "user manual", thanks to the importer: Agimex A/S, with detailed instructions for startup, placing sensors, and troubleshooting (the international user manual is inferior and very much like the old one for my Watson W-8681)

Price: 599 Dkr / 103$ / 67£ / 80€ http://www.davidsenshop.dk/pi/AGIMEX_RO ... _2259.aspx

Manufactured in Sweden: www.termometerfabrikenviking.se, so hopefully a better build quality.

Frequency: same as the old station, 868.3 MHz, so I simply set up the new console with the old sensors and TX-unit.
No re-calibration required, and Cumulus cannot tell the difference.

So now I have an operational weather station again - and a box of spare parts :)
