WS-1080 Heat Index???

Is there any way to calibrate the heat index? My heat index just seemed out of reason today. At a temperature of 102 F and relative humidity of 57% my heat index read 131 F. That seems unreasonably high. I already calibrated the rain gauge because it was reading consistently 25% low everytime it rained. That calibration has corrected that problem. Just didn't see a way to calibrate for the heat index.

Thanks,
Ken

There isn't a concept of calibrating the heat index, as it's a fixed formula based on Temperature and Humidity, both of which can be calibrated separately.

A temp of 102F and RH of 57% equates to a Heat Index of 131F. See the calculator here for confirmation:http://www.crh.noaa.gov/jkl/?n=heat_index_calculator

The calculator actually gives 133F, but there will always be slight differences depending on the way the heat index is calculated.
