Hello Everyone on the forum i come today with another question/s. I dont know if it is Forum / Cumulus related but here it goes.
I am going to be purchasing a Outdoor Wireless web camera so that i can preferably live stream weather or if i must upload snapshot every X minutes, what i want to know is Can cumulus do this? also what is cumulus webcam URL settings for?
Also how do i layout my htm page for the webcam images / video? and if no html is required because of a certain program (free if possible) how do i even make it go to my website in the first place?
Much help would be very appreciated if it can be given to me of course.
My website is still doing well thanks to Steve from all the help you can give me topic.
Antonio.

No, Cumulus is weather station software, not webcam software

also what is cumulus webcam URL settings for?
To provide a link to a webcam page from your Cumulus weather pages. From the help for the internet settings screen:
Webcam URL This is an optional setting. You can use it to supply the URL of your webcam, if you have one; Cumulus will place a link to it on the web pages it creates. If you wish, you can use the default, which is the webcam on the sanday.org.uk web site. If you erase the field, Cumulus will not create any forum links on your web pages.
Much help would be very appreciated if it can be given to me of course.
There is quite a bit of webcam hardware/software expertise on the forum - see the webcam section. Have a read in there and then ask any specific questions, I'm sure you'll get some good answers.

Hi Antonio,
Here's a thread with some details of how to display trend arrows in both javascript and php.

Right-click on the graphs (in Cumulus).

From the Cumulus help file:
The "Graphs" Window
This window can be displayed by selecting Graphs from the View menu.
The data in the large graph is sampled every minute (apart from the Min/Max Temp and Daily Rainfall graphs, which are daily values), while the data in the smaller graphs is sampled every ten minutes.
Right clicking on one of the larger graphs brings up a pop-up menu allowing you to change the colour used for plotting that graph.

Why not leave the station plugged in all the time and give the system a chance to settle down a bit? All this unplugging is not going to help the risk of corrupting your data.

Either it didn't manage to read the data from the logger - sometimes these stations seem to stop logging, and constantly unplugging it and replugging it does seem to contribute to this - or there's a corruption (possibly just a blank line) in your data log. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it I'll have a look.

I'm not saying that unplugging it has caused it stop logging, I'm saying that in a few cases I've seen where the station
has stopped logging, the user has been unplugging the station regularly. When you say 'unplugging', you
do mean unplugging the USB cable? If so, can you not leave it plugged in with the PC switched off?
I won't have any idea what happened unless I see the diags logs.

It's just that I have seen a couple of cases where unplugging the USB cable from the station on a regular basis seems to be connected with odd things happening to the station. It may just be coincidence.
