Antonio, obviously you do not read english too well or prefer to do it your way even thought you know little about Web page programming...

It was never suggested that you add a new container tag before the already available '<div id="content">' the beginning of the page - why did you add a new '<div id="container">' tag ... and without its closing '</div>' tag!

The code that was suggested to you in a previous message (which code I tested on my computer) would not have changed the width of your page. To correct your mistakes, you need to modify or remove the following lines - and, please, modify the lines in the order given below, starting with line 61, then with line 59, then with line 34, then with line 33, then with line 18, then with line 15, and finally with line 14 - do not start with line 14:

- line 61 - replace the '<p>' with '<p style="color: #E0FFFF;">' to produce a light cyan text over your dark blue background
- line 59 - remove the '<FONT#E0FFFF>'
- line 34 - leave the '<td rowspan="3">' as it is
- line 33 - remove the '<td rowspan="3">'
- line 18 - remove the '</div>'
- line 15 - leave the '<div id="content">' as it is
- line 14 - remove the '<div id="container">'

And, please, please, get a good book about HTML programming before you continue modifying your pages (the public library might be a good place to look for such a book) - this way you will understand what you are doing (or undoing) when you add (or move or remove) some new code...

yes thank you i am a bit silly i readed the other link said make a container i was to be confused there but now i will fix by line do u mean count down to lines? i will fix now will this un stretch my site?

Antonio, I just checked your page and the corrections/modifications have been made properly.

May I recommend that you remove the automatic refresh (that would be line 5: '<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="30" >' - it is very annoying. If a user spends a lot of time on your Web pages, then that user should activate the automatic page refresh option in his/her own browser.

I noticed that you have modified the colour of the text a few places on your page - if you are going to continue using that dark blue background, then it would be better to modify the colour of the text from within the CSS (cascading style sheet) file. By the way, how do you add/introduce the dark blue background on you page (it is somewhat slow in loading in my browsers) - that dark blue background information (file or link) should also be included into the CSS file.

But, DO NOT start modifying your CSS file until you have a better understanding of what can be modified and how it should be modified.

I am not familiar with 'Build Your Own Website The Right Way Using HTML & CSS' but the information provided on the SitePoint Web page about the table of contents seems interesting. But before you modify your Web pages further, go through the examples in the book until you get very familiar with the proper use of the HTML and CSS code.

i have adsl2 so i dont notice slowness but i will make it smaller

EDIT - please try my page now my images was 699kb before now shrunk to 98kb so is it faster now?

Antonio, my home/office network connects to the Internet via high speed cable (such as cable TV).

You might have reduced the size of the image but it is now proportionally to wide for its height.

There is one modification you could try with to your 'weatherstyle.css' CSS file... First, make a backup copy of the 'weatherstyle.css' file.

Then change line 10 from this: to this That produces a nice unexpected effect at the top of the page...

If you do not like the effect, could you please ZIP and attach the original (full size) background image so I can try making the image more proportional for Web page display.

i did redo the line but nothing changed, also now my text (parts of it) is grey and not black anymore..

i did not see anything wrong with the image i have on my screen its fully blue.

Why can you not do what you are asked for rather than trying to do your own little things ... you are new to both HTML and CSS, but you insist in changing things you know nothing about and then you post a message writing that the text has changed colour...

I am sorry but I am through with you - no more assistance on my part - maybe in 6-12 months from now when you have learned something on your own about HTML and CSS.

i only did change line 10 none of the other i can swear on my life i did not change any other lines rather than 10 <<<< FACT!!!!!

i now did my fix by my self put #000000 and now it okay i checked my backup u told me to make it was

How can i edit a Copy << of weatherstyle css to make all of the text with the moonphase and daytime information under my heading i want it to be the color of <h1> #000000 = black

so it is easier to read oh by the way editing the css to do repeat made my sites background Repeat haha it now looks better on higer resoloutions BUT it kinda is darker the top one? thanks anyway gemini06720

Other members of this forum are always very keen to help others get their weather data presented on a website, either using the templates supplied by Steve, or ones created from scratch.

Your questions on how to change colours of various sections of text etc. on your website I think really are becoming a bit too frequent. Based on what I have read on your requests so far, I think there is a real danger you will really mess up your website soon, and you may have to start from scratch, then everyones time would have been wasted.

May I suggest that you return back to the templates provided with Cumulus, remove your dark blue background so the text is readable, then before making any changes understand the connection between the supplied HTML and the CSS.

Then just make changes one at a time, and completely understand WHY the results have occured before proceeding with the next change.

Hi i admire your concern for me that i would mess it up but i have done 3 things for myself which i think is good

i have 3 folder one called cumulus original / cumulus experiments / cumulus experiments success so if i mess it up with an experiment i would use the previous file which worked fot me and therefore will not lose my data in the making of my website, i will try not to ask too many questions but you see that is why i it is called all the help you can give me...
