I always leave the USB plugged in when I turn off the computer that runs the station (though that's not often).

Re: All the help you can give me PT 2
Gina i do this also last night i left it plugged in but turned it off but my station made a clicking noise upon turning off which i know is the sound of power from the usb being cut off so whether you unplug it or not i think that it should be fine? also moving on from that cumulus gave me an anonymous 330kmh wind gust at 1:12am what the heck is wrong with that?????Gina wrote:I always leave the USB plugged in when I turn off the computer that runs the station (though that's not often).
also i sometimes get anonymous 0.3mm rain on a sunny week.
and off topic a little i would like to know how i can place my links on my cumulus site on the left hand side when page is opened instead of the bottom.
thanks for the help so far it has been a life saver

Re: All the help you can give me PT 2
Sounds like something is knocking the rain gauge and therefore the tipping bucket. A bird maybe, excessive wind, etc.also i sometimes get anonymous 0.3mm rain on a sunny week.
You need to do some research and learning on webpage construction to figure this one out. I look at it this way when I want to achieve something. Decide on what it is I want to do. Look at examples of this and study the html of these examples. Have a bit of a play with the code. Research it on the web and in books. More playing, more trying... and so on.and off topic a little i would like to know how i can place my links on my cumulus site on the left hand side when page is opened instead of the bottom.

Read it through completely, it will give you much help on how to achieve a fixed menu on the left.

The USB Ports on your computer can be set to either have power on when the computer is off, or not. Assuming you are not actually removing the Mains voltage from the computer.
Control Panel/system/device manager/usb controllers. Right click Generic Hub /properties/power management and change the power setting.
Power on the USB Connections will keep your Console powered from the computer rather than batteries.

Thanks for the tip - it's a bit different on my PC running XP. No power management option for the 2 Generic USB Hubs shown but it is available on the 3 USB Root Hubs I seem to have. How to tell which one my console is connected to - trial and error?Super-T wrote:The USB Ports on your computer can be set to either have power on when the computer is off, or not. Antonio,
As I said before,
Have a look at this thread: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... enu#p22391.
Read it through completely, it will give you much help on how to achieve a fixed menu on the left.
But now you say you want it on the right.
So in the CSS in the navigation_menu section, put
right:10px;

PCs can't run programs when they're hibernating, if they could run programs they wouldn't be hibernating.pacificblue03 wrote:so i did that and it does not power off now so ok, is it possible in ANY way at all to have cumulus running overnight whilst the Laptop in sleep/hibernate mode at all? if so this would be my SOLOUTION i would keep it on 247 then while at night but just sleeping...
Note that if you do start hibernating your PC rather than switching it off, you must close Cumulus before you hibernate.

Re: All the help you can give me PT 2
Antonio, may I suggest that you find and READ some books on HTML and CSS programming before you venture into making too many modifications to your pages...
That said, it is also a good thing to use some of the advices given by people such as Steve...
One thing you must remember is that all programming code has to be located within a page container - in the Cumulus HTM templates, that container is identify as '<div id="content">' - technically no code should be located outside that container.
So, at the top of your page, you need to move the following:...to:
Next, the moon phase script you are trying to include to replace the moon icon is much wider than the original moon icon - the information to the left of the moon phase might get compressed.
Here is what you need to remove/replace:...with:
As for moving the menus to the left side of the page, as Paul suggested, dav (David) gives a good explanation on how it can be done: '...left hand menu which stays on the screen when the user scrolls down'... At the very least, take the time to read and understand how it is being done...
