APRS "wxnow.txt" humidity problem

Hello,

I am having a problem with the wxnow.txt file generated by Cumulus for submission to the APRS network. Humidity is only allocated 2 characters -- 00 through 99. My relative humidity reached 0% a couple of times last week and Cumulus rationally inserted "h00" into the APRS weather string. The problem is that APRS interprets "h00" as 100% humidity. There is no provision for 0%. Anyone have an idea for a work around? Can Cumulus insert "h01" for 1% humidity when the actual measured humidity is 0%? Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Jason

I think 0% RH is impossible in reality, but given the 3% accuracy of the Davis, and the spec says its range is 0 to 100 - and I guess you live somewhere extremely dry! - I'll have to handle it somehow. Clearly APRS didn't expect zero to actually happen, because as you rightly say they use that for 100%. I think your suggested work around is reasonable, and I'll implement that.

Yeah, it doesn't seem possible, but it does get pretty dry here! And another station using the same hardware, about a mile away, also recorded 0% RH that day. Thanks for you attention on this!
