The dangers of flash floods

In Northern NSW, last weekend a couple in a 4WD where washed off a creek crossing similar to the one in the video
They managed to get out of the vehicle and grab onto some tree branches, unfortunately the husband could not hang on and was swept away and died. The wife managed to hold on until the water receded then walked to a farm house.
In the video, the wall of water can be seen hitting the causeway with such force that any vehicle on it or about to cross would not stand much of a chance.
Imagine crossing this causeway at nighttime unaware of the dangers upstream
