Strange happenings.

Post by bigharps »

I've had two possibly unrelated problems with Cumulus.
Firstly, on 24/6 we had a power outage which was not resolved before bedtime, so cumulus was not running at midnight, which is my day changeover. When I restarted the computer on 25/6, all 'yesterday' readings showed zero.
I looked at dayfile.txt, and there was no entry for 24/6, so I copied those for 23/6 and changed the date to 24/6, intending to get the correct readings from Jun10log.txt when I 'got 'round to it!'
This morning, after no shutdowns, I had a 9999.99 reading for min pressure, and (I think!) identical readings for all 'recent extremes' for today and yesterday.
I looked at the logfile and saw identical readings for everything from 22:38 on 25/6 up to 07:06 on 26/6 (today). I'm assumimg this was a LaCrosse fault.
So... I tried the time tested method of closing cumulus, powering the 2306 down and removing and reinserting all connections.
When I restarted cumulus it gave me the 'woe is me' message and I had to use task manager to shut the program down. This happened at least once more and I started searching the forum for possibilities, but another attempt and cumulus started and seems to be running okay at present, except that the yesterday readings are not correct. I also noticed there are now three entries in dayfile.txt for 25/6
What have I done???
I'm attaching the data files zipped and also those in the diags folder.

The clock in your weather station has gone a year into the future, causing Cumulus problems when it tries to download logger data from the time it wasn't running - the station says there isn't any because it hasn't happened yet:

2010-06-26 07:47:10 : WS2300 History Details: Data: 3B F0 01 18 07 26 06 11 00 01
2010-06-26 07:47:10 : interval=60 countdown=32 numrecords=1
2010-06-26 07:47:10 : hr=7 min=18 d=26 m=6 y=2011

This is a relatively common problem with these stations (it seems to happen after a power cut), and is probably the main cause of Cumulus being unable to get data from the logger, and hence failing to do end of day resets.

Thanks for that.
I have deleted the extra dayfile entries for 25/6, seemingly without any problems. :?
