I am building a stand alone sensor (arduino based)that will measure the depth of the brook running by my house, it will report back the information via GSM (php script) and be stored in a database. I would relaly like this data to be fed into cumulus.
Would this be possible ?
thanks

Re: Adding more sensor data - can i 'hack' the logs ?
Not currently. There is an existing enhancement request for feeding external data into Cumulus, and I am thinking of making this a 'general' facility if/when I get around to it. I haven't really thought out how it would work yet.
What sort of thing would you want Cumulus to do with it? Your suggestion of 'hacking' the logs - I guess you could choose an existing parameter that you weren't interested in - indoor humidity or whatever, and overwrite those values somehow with your data. Then Cumulus would plot the graphs using your data. It would still look as though it was plotting the real parameter, so it would look a little bit odd.

Hi Steve
Yes I agree hacking the logs isnt really a good way. Ideally what would be cool is a new section (similar to outdoor, rainfall, indoor etc) with some user defined parameter names that can be turned on / off and a path for each parameter to a log file (you set the format)containing the data. This would then be part of the normal upload and have graphs etc.
The other feature that would be awesome is the ability to generate an email or multiple emails alarm if a parameter trigger is met.
thanks
