No, it's not fine on your end. It's broken. Look more carefully.pacificblue03 wrote:just checked that and its fine on my end.

Don't forget that it can't update any faster than your realtime.txt file updates, and even then no faster than your station updates, i.e. every 40-50 seconds.pacificblue03 wrote:realtime now works but does not refresh how i tell it to every 30 seconds. bye all.
ok. its all working very fine now. and i can use this auto ftp loader its great. now im gonna work on putting the bottom links on the top right hand corner and i was wondering how would i put realtime wind data gauges to show on the index page?steve wrote:Don't forget that it can't update any faster than your realtime.txt file updates, and even then no faster than your station updates, i.e. every 40-50 seconds.pacificblue03 wrote:realtime now works but does not refresh how i tell it to every 30 seconds. bye all.

To accomplish any of that, you will have to first learn a lot more about HTML and PHP programming...also are there ways to replace the data in index page with nice looking thermometers and gauges like some other sites i have seen?
funny you should mention that because im going next year to certificate 4 in web design so looking forward to it.gemini06720 wrote:A couple of points:

Bob Very nice! if i set my updates to 10 minute intervals will my realtime be 10 mins as well? i want the data to be as recent as possible for the forum i am joined in.tjaliwalpa wrote:Looks a lot better with the new background. Personally, I reckon the updates every 60 seconds is overkill as is the updating of the web data every 60 seconds.
I've set my updates to 10 minutes. This is ample, in my opinion. As for refreshing the page, I have mine set to 2 min and 20 seconds and only on the Now page, although I am thinking of removing this as I have a Weather Console available on my opening page. I also have my website set up using frames, so not all the page refreshes, only the frame containing the data table. Have a look and you will see what I mean.
If you are really interested in showing realtime data, why not make the Weather Console available. Try the link on my Now page.
Bob
Cumulus Realtime gets its data from realtime.txt which you say you have uploading at 45 seconds. If you have Cumulus Realtime operating, it will get that data from realtime.txt, which is updated every 45 seconds in your case. If you have another look at my website and try Cumulus Realtime, you will see it appear in the bottom frame (yes I am always fiddling and have added menu buttons to replace the text links). You will notice it updates at 10 second intervals because that is the interval I have Cumulus updating realtime.txt, even though my website update interval is 10 minutes now, with the refresh of some pages at "600". If anyone hangs around my site for 10 minutes, they deserve a refresh.pacificblue03 wrote: Bob Very nice! if i set my updates to 10 minute intervals will my realtime be 10 mins as well? i want the data to be as recent as possible for the forum i am joined in.
my realtime data is set to 45second interval updates so will that only apply to the gauges or all of realtime features?
Mmm, yes, it can take a bit of fiddling and like anything with HTML, Java or the like, it needs to be exactly right, all the syntax, spelling, etc or the dam thing will frustrate the hell out of you. But once you have it working, it is great and you feel really pleased. Notice I placed the realtime wind guages in my Weather Console - just a copy and paste.pacificblue03 wrote: also i have tried many times to use the weather console on my site and have used the cumulus wiki 100000+ times and still it does not work.
Hey, only 2 weeks. Rome wasn't built in a day. You have it working and that is an achievement in itself. Using frames is not easy to get your head around to start with. Menu buttons is another thing again.pacificblue03 wrote: and lastly i am deeply liking the links and menu options at the top i would love to make mine like this. well so far i agreed even to myself that this is my best website i have ever made and its only been 2 weeks or so, so i am really happy for now.
