I haven't put automatic page refreshes in the templates because I don't like them, and their use is discouraged by the W3C. But of course your pages are yours, and you can do whatever you wish with themThe web pages update every 10 minute, but do they reload automatically in browser
Of course. I maybe remove the update code.steve wrote:I haven't put automatic page refreshes in the templates because I don't like them, and their use is discouraged by the W3C. Yes, that's a nice idea! Where can I find some tips on the syntax and does it put demands on the configuration of the server? Maybe ask Google works as always?!gemini06720 wrote:Tom, an option for auto-updating of Web pages without refreshing the complete/whole page would be to add AJAX of JavaScript coding to the pages so only modified values are updated...
Thanks for your advice. Seems to be a bit tricky to get to work though, according to the comments on the page...steve wrote:There's a ready-made Ajax solution on the downloads page (link top-right) which you can either just use as it is, or study to get some ideas for how to do your own.
Hmm. Yes. I noticed that. I haven't actually tried it myself, I must admit.tlillas wrote:Seems to be a bit tricky to get to work though, according to the comments on the page...
Tom. I did not looked too 'deeply' at the information on the page suggested by Steve... May I recommend instead that you look at David's 'WeatherConsole' - the code is somewhat easier to adapt (and comprehend)...tlillas wrote:Seems to be a bit tricky to get to work though, according to the comments on the page...
Ok, thanks! I will have a look at that one. Good that it uses the realtime.txt file which I already have present on the website.gemini06720 wrote:Tom.
