Problem with W8681 after changing battery

Post by L.F. »

The battery on my wife's console failed recently. There were about two weeks of readings stored in it at the time. She uses Cumulus but also copies the data to Easyweather as a kind of backup. Having replaced the battery the data appered to go into Cumulus Ok but Easyweather reported no data.

Strangely, the meter showing how much memory has been used doesn't seem to be working now (after several days) although the console is saving data becasue it can be accessed by using the data toggle. Could anyone explain what is happening, please?

I have seen someting similar on mine from time to time - I don't tend to keep it powered on all of the time and sometimes when I have reconnected it, it doesn't save data to the logger. It still gives 'live' data but never advances the current memory location, and hence the indicator never moves off empty. Resetting it (removing the power) seems to fix it. I've seen similar situations with others, where there is no data to download in Cumulus after it's not been running for a while. I think that the logger interval value gets corrupted - set to zero or something. It's not clear whether this is the same as you're seeing.

You could try a reset, or try resetting the logger interval using Easyweather, and/or zip up the diags folder and attach it here and I'll have a look to see what Cumulus is seeing.

As you suggested, I reset the logger interval to 10 mins then back to 30 mins. The memory meter is now working again. Thanks for your help.
