Hi , help please!

Can anyone advise me where I can purchase a replacement transmitter please, and also what sort of Transmitter I actually need!?

My weather station is a Maplin N96GY - which I think is equivalent to a WH1081 ? It operates on 433mhz.

My TX from all appearances looks to be working ok (insert battery - red light comes on goes off and then flashes every 48 secs, but does not send anything to the base station)

After changing the transmitter batteries you also need to disconnect the usb and remove/replace the console batteries so the console can reset and lock back onto from the transmitter signal.

Hi Gerard, thanks for that, Ive tried almost every combination of power up sequence I can find on the web.
Its not batteries as ive tried new / rechargeable. Ive also tried powering the base from batteries/and or pc via USB.
Also Ive confirmed its not interference as well.

Any idea on the part needed?

I can supply spare for Fine offset 1080/1081 but you would need to be living in NZ.

Just a thought - if you replaced with rechargable batteries, the transmitter range will be significantly shorter due to the lower voltage provided by most rechargables. I would suggest you take the display outside near the transmitter (or bring the transmitter inside). Power up the transmitter first, followed by the display. The display can not be connected to USB during this exercise. Syncing can take 5 - 10 minutes on occasion.
If you get it to sync when physically close, get rid of the rechargables and use either high quality Alkalines or Lithiums.

Absolutely. Rechargeables start at 1.2v and I found my transmitter stopped when the alkaline batteries I had been using fell to just 1.1v - little less than fully charged rechargeables. I replaced with Lithiums which hold their voltage well and work in the cold better.

I have some AA rechargable lithium batteries (require a specific chager) which I bought from Hong Kong (eBay). These have a charged voltage of 4.2v and a depleted voltage of 2.57v. The stated voltage is 3.6v. I use them in some of our household equipment paired with a dummy aluminium rod battery. Even then they can blow torch batteries. They work well in a digital camera we have. How would these fair in my weather station? I'm not game to try.

I wouldn't advise it. 4.2v could well destroy your transmitter unit. Even 3.6 would be pushing it IMO.
