exception class : EFOpenError
exception message : Cannot open file "C:\Program Files\Cumulus\data\dayfile.txt". The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
Something else was preventing Cumulus from writing to the file.
The easiest way to recover the data is to use one of the backups (copy the files out of the backup folder with Cumulus stopped), if you have a recent one. If not, you can do the same thing manually; edit the monthly data log to remove any entries until a few minutes before midnight, then set the timestamp in today.ini back to the corresponding date/time. When you start Cumulus it should then download the data from the logger and all should be OK.

It must have failed to do the rollover for the previous night too - did it crash in the same way on Wednesday night? If you want Cumulus to do it automatically, you'll have to roll back even further to just before midnight on Wednesday.
Edit: Actually, it can't have crashed the previous night, the bug report file says it was up for 8 days previously. Did you roll back manually, or using the backup files? Did you notice before you rolled back whether both the 2nd and the 3rd were missing at that point?

There was some sort of problem at midnight on the 2nd:
02/06/10,23:58,68.4,93,66.3,0.0,0.0,0,0.00,0.65,29.694,15.13,79.7,45,0.0,68.4,68.4
02/06/10,23:59,68.4,93,66.3,0.0,0.0,0,0.00,0.65,29.694,15.13,79.7,45,0.0,68.4,68.4
03/06/10,14:23,79.7,78,72.2,1.1,6.0,81,0.00,0.65,29.756,15.13,78.6,47,2.0,79.7,79.7
03/06/10,14:24,79.8,75,71.2,1.1,6.0,84,0.00,0.65,29.756,15.13,78.6,47,1.0,79.8,79.8
03/06/10,14:25,79.7,75,71.1,1.1,6.0,76,0.00,0.65,29.758,15.13,78.8,47,1.0,79.7,79.7
It stopped logging, and then somehow started again at 14:23 - did you have to do anything to get it started again?
If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll have a look to see if I can see what happened. To get your missing data, you'll need to reset the files back to just before midnight on the 2nd.

There's no clue as to what went wrong - it started to do the day reset but didn't complete it, and then stopped logging until the afternoon. I suspect that you had the same problem (or similar) with it being unable to write to the dayfile. Do you have anything running around midnight that might be accessing the file?

You wouldn't expect anything running a few minutes after midnight to affect it; perhaps it's the AV - can you configure it to ignore the Cumulus folder?

The easiest way is just to check that an entry for the day went into dayfile.txt.
