Running on a different PC

Hi

I have Cumulus 1.8.8 on my Windows Home Server which is on 24x7 and has the N96GY USB cable plugged in to it. The only downside is that I have to remote in to it to use Cumulus. Is there any way I can run Cumulus on my desktop PC, referencing the data etc on the WHS box?

Cumulus has to run on the machine that the station is connected to (with the exception of the Davis stations with IP connections). You can also get USB/IP software but I don't know how well that would work with Cumulus.

I also run Cumulus on WHS and don't find having to use RDC a problem. I also tend to look at my web site rather than the WHS box if I want a quick weather update.

The current plan - if I can get it all working - is that Cumulus 2 will consist of an 'engine' which runs as a Windows Service, with a separate 'viewer' which doesn't have to be on the same machine.

Thanks Steve.

Yes, it's NBD using RDC, but I thought I'd ask ;)

Looking forward to seeing C2 hit the streets :)
