Barometer rate stuck?
Using 1.9.0 build 936. Barometer rate uploading appears to be stuck at +0.004 in/hr (using inHg), though the description appears correct "Falling Rapidly"

Re: Barometer rate stuck?
Presumably you're using the trend string from the station, so perhaps it's simply the difference between the ways Cumulus and the VP2 work out the pressure trend; Cumulus just compares the value three hours ago and the value now. The VP2 may have a more sophisticated algorithm, or perhaps uses a shorter time period. I was going to look at your graphs to see what the recent trend had been, but they appear not to be updating.
If that doesn't explain it, then I don't know what else it could be. Restarting Cumulus may sort it.

Re: Barometer rate stuck?
Actually your theory is kind of in reverse. Cumulus does a perfect job of "describing" the barometer trend. What's going on with this version of Cumulus is that the numeric barometric pressure trend is stuck reading "+0.004" in/hr, while the actual barometric rate trend is, as you'd expect, varying throughout the day or night. Cumulus is "describing" the trend right in words, but the numeric rate within Cumulus is stuck at +0.004 in/hr.

Re: Barometer rate stuck?
Cumulus doesn't have a "Falling rapidly" description of the pressure (it has "Falling quickly" and "Falling very rapidly") so unless you've used strings.ini to change the wording, then the description is, as I said, coming from the VP2 and not from Cumulus. Which explains why the text can be correct while the value (calculated by Cumulus) is not.garytx wrote:Actually your theory is kind of in reverse. It's definitely nothing to do with version 1.9.0 in particular, I haven't changed the barometer trend code for a long time. It does look like the value is stuck, but it's harder to see what's going on when I can't see your graphs. Any idea why they're not uploading? What's going on with this version of Cumulus
Is the main Cumulus screen also showing the +0.004 value? Have you tried restarting Cumulus? Your 'today' data clearly isn't actually today's (some of the times are later than the current time) so I think perhaps some of the Cumulus timers have stopped for some reason - which would explain the stuck pressure trend.

Re: Barometer rate stuck?
Sorry, "falling quickly" was what I should have written. Yes, the main screen was stuck on the 0.004 in/hr rate, though the barometric pressure showing was accurate, and was rising/falling in actuality as one would expect with diurnal and other changes, but the rate was stuck at the 0.004 both on screen and with tags. I've done a reboot and a couple of restarts of Cumulus, and all appears to be working at present. I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks, Steve.
