Month to Date Rain Totals

Post by wrmattil »

All,

Confused by this, and the FAQ didn't help. The dayfile.txt file has no data for month to date. And either does the other txt file in the data directory. Assuming I can trust the helpfile of course. Which I probably can. So....

How can I change the Month to Date totals to match what the Console Displays ?

Yes ... The Yearly total is correct.

Regards

It really depends on why you have no data for the month to date. When did you start using Cumulus?

So you should at least have an entry for yesterday in dayfile.txt, and entries in may10log.txt for the last couple of days. There's nothing at all in either of those files? If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll have a look to see if I can see what went wrong.

If you want the monthly rain total to be correct, you'll either have to add an amount to an entry in dayfile.txt (once we work out why the entries aren't being created) or create a dummy entry for the day before you started using Cumulus with the extra amount in it. Cumulus only logs data from the point where you start using it - you can force it to use older data from the station logger, as mentioned in the FAQ, but this also requires a bit of manual editing of the files.

Hi Steve,

Doh ! OK added a previous day to dayfile.txt and added in the correct amount of rainfall. Alls good now.

Thanks !

My bad in not figuring this out. I kept looking for a Month to Date amount.
