Wow very nice weather camera shots; always wanted to visit that area and I did promise my wife a trip there someday in the future. Here is my web camera shots as posted to Weatherunderground.

I keep adding and subtracting data from the composite view. I did change the camera this past year; but still not totally happy with the camera type. This is a JPG file which is really a composite of numerous data insertions, icons, other JPGs put together every 5 minutes for upload. Not really too resource intensive.

Pete,

Can I ask why a weather webcam shows the ground in 2/3 of its image? Isn't the whole point to show visitors the weather? Why not point it upwards more with just 1/3 of the image showing the ground for some scale and perspective?

Sorry but it's more like a streetcam than weather cam. :?
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

Focus is bad. Can you just do manual focus (assuming it's automatic)? Funny- "Special Thanks" :D
Hey, I like your monthly averages at the bottom. Good idea!

Post by Goose157 »

Hi,
Here's a link to my temp set up - (going to have a look for a cheap ip cam this weekend).
At the moment i have set up my mates chicory webcam on top of my kitchen sink lol! - its pointing out over to the back garden....
This is just a test to see what you get from a very old cheap less £10 webcam...

Got lots of lighting here in the lightning capital of Australia. Storm went for 2 hours, have uploaded the sped up 3 minute version to youtube. The photo is a low resolution shot from my Facebook page.

I have just come across your site and would like to say a quick hello. I have a weather station in Newhall South Derbyshire. England. It has been on the internet for well over 10 years now. Around 8 years ago I was looking for a site to put my webcam on and found it very difficult as nearly all the webcam sites featured, links to pages that I didn't want to place my webcam, mostly adult based sites. So I sat down and started my own webpage for fellow weather sites with webcams so that they could put their webcams in a place that featured nothing but weather related webcams. So now after 8 years the site has grown to well over 200 webcams from all over the British Isles. And people are still sending me links to new webcams all the time. My site is now one of the top sites on most of the internet search engines and I quite often get my weather station featured in the Local newspaper and on the local Radio stations.
You can find my webcam page at the following URL.
http://www.btinternet.com/~paul.gillive ... ercam2.htm
You will find my webcam at Newhall Derbyshire, not briliant images but they do what I want them to do. Also on the website there are links to my other webpages giving data from my Davis Vantage Pro2 station. Nice to see you all and I hope you have fun looking at the webcams on my page.
Anyone who has a webcam that uses this forum and are not on my site please contact me on the e-mail address on my website and I will be more that happy to put you on my webpage.

Hi,

Just got around to adding my webcam to my site. Not a great view, but I'm happy with the resolution.
Camera is Axis M1011 IP Camera, which sends snapshots direct to my ftp server every 15 minutes, without the requirement of YAWCAM :D

Webcam Page : http://www.rushden-weather.co.uk/webcam.htm

Weather site: http://www.rushden-weather.co.uk

Best regards to all

Please give this a try: http://www.wheelocknet.net/cam/index.htm

And let me know if it is intuitive enough as is or do I need to say “Click here for”

This runs on a spare parts MS Homeserver 2011, Microsoft Lifecam cinema using ISpy for the FTP still, and a Microsoft Lifecam Studio using Yawcam for the streaming video.

Best viewed during daylight hours, of course. Local time is UTC+1.

If you look closely, you can also see my Weather Station in proud view, of which I am hoping to incorporate some of the Cumlus data into the static design once i figure out how to do it all!!
