Daily Diary - Thunder

Post by raflec »

Firstly congratulations on an excellent program. As good, if not better than the ones you have to pay a lot of money for.
Donation on the way through Paypal.

One improvement I would like to see - In the daily diary you have the facility to enter days when snow is falling and the depth, this will then be shown on the monthly summary.
I would like to be able to enter days when thunder and/or lightning occurs and this to be shown likewise.

To a lesser extent this could also be done for Fog.

Yes, the diary is a bit basic. I plan to provide a much better version in Cumulus 2, and possibly also at some point improve the current one. Thunder, and other manual observations, would certainly be useful additions.

Note just manual, a few people have lightning detectors. I wrote a applet to process lightning data off the web plot them on a a MS Bing map and give warnings of approaching storms, that could have be adapted to log all strikes within say a 10 mile radius.
