Cumulus 1.1.8 problem

Steve, two problems. First, my Cumulus V1.1.8 has stopped uploading my info to WeatherUnderground. It will work for several hours, then stop. I cannot get it to even stay on the screen to work on it without rebooting. Second I cannot get V1.1.9 to lock in with my system and connect to WeatherUnderground. I am using a Zephyr 1000TD weather unit.

Thanks',

Waqyne :

Do you mean 1.8.9?

I don't know what "lock in with my system" means. Could you explain exactly what is working and what isn't working?

I'm sorry, I men that it has stopped uploading info to my Weather Underground station, plus it will no9t lock in, or stay on the screen of the computer for me to work on it unless I reboot and start over with a new start.

I cannot get V9 to work at all.

I don't really know what I can do about the Weather Underground problem, if it was working fine and has now stopped. And if there was some sort of fix I could do, it would have to be to 1.8.9 anyway. Someone else I think had a problem connecting 1.8.9 to a Fine Offset station. It's a bit strange because I haven't changed anything in that area in 1.8.9, and it works fine for most people. Could you zip up the diags folder and attach it, please, and I'll have a look.

Steve

Right-click on the Cumulus diags folder in windows explorer -> send to -> compressed file - this creates a diags.zip file, attach it to a post here.

Could it be that the PC is running out of available RAM and a reboot is clearing it. Do you run any other applications on it?

Well, I show that I have on it at times.38mb of space left on my storage machine. I am running lots of stuff on it at times.

Hmmm, try closing the other apps and see if it behaves differently. I have run 1.8.8 & 1.8.9 successfully on windows XP as have many others, I just suspect it may be something relating to your PC, but then again i could be barking up the wrong tree. ;)

That's just one of the diags files, and it's from 1.8.8., so doesn't help with working out why 1.8.9 won't talk to your station.

I suspect that this is the cause of your 1.8.8 lockups. I might be wrong, but I don't think XP can function with only 38 MB free hard disk space.

I actually have 38GB left, sorry, I was tired when I wrote that.

Steve, I will send more files late from 1.9, but everyone, including me thinks it is my computer. Like I wrote it worked like a charm for two months, then it stopped reporting, and unless I reboot and reload it will not work more that 5 minutes, then it stops.

Thanks', Everybody for your input.
