rain problem - procedure to restore at a previous date ?

Post by aeropic »

Hi All,

I'm using C1 and it works fine untill yesterday when my PC crashed ...
It is now displaying a weird rainfall figure and I think I should need to restore something...

As my wheatergraph station as not been reseted, I'm pretty sure it contains all the data coolected from at least beginning of may.

What would be the procedure to follow to make cumulus read again the data from the station in order to regenerate any file from end of April ?

Shall I patch yesterday.ini, alltime.ini, today.ini or simply remove some of these files ? (I've already tried to do it by myself but It is becomming worse and wors in terms of total yearly rainfall ...)

Thanks for your help
Alain

The easiest way is to use one of the sets of backup files, if you still have a set from just before the problem occurred.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately all the back files are dated after the date the problem occured... I'm afraid I'll have to follow an harder way ?

You need to edit the timestamp in today.ini to set it to the date and time you want to download from, and also remove any data from the logs back to that date. To get the rainfall correct, you'll need to set the Start= figure in today.ini to match the rain counter at the start of the day that you go back to. You can find this figure in the monthly log file.

Well ... it worked partly. Everything is OK but the rain values. I restored everything from 1rst of May and got 80 mm of rain on this date (which is wrong). Maybe a problem with the data stored inside the station ...

You can see the rain counter values from the station in the monthly log file.

Thank you Steve, it's now working fine using the correct initial value from the monthlog file.
