After 2 months of using the cumulus forum i have only just noticed steve you live in the Orkney Islands i also come from there as well i was born in a small village called craigiefield which is not far from Kirkwall My father was in the RAF and we were posted up there many years ago but now we live in england

We don't get over to Orkney Mainland very often, just every month or two for shopping, and we never have time between ferries to do more than rush round the shops, so we've not had chance to explore much of the rest of Orkney. But I've looked up Craigiefield and I can say that we have been there - when we came to view this house, while we were waiting for the ferry to Sanday we drove around aimlessly for a while up in that corner.
